¹⁸ and ^(A)Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over^[a] the ^(B)Cherethites and the Pelethites, and David's sons were priests.

¹⁸ And ^(A)all his servants passed by him, and all the Cherethites, and all the Pelethites, and all the six hundred Gittites who had followed him from ^(B)Gath, passed on before the king.

⁷ And there went out after him Joab's men and the ^(A)Cherethites and the Pelethites, and all the mighty men. They went out from Jerusalem to pursue Sheba the son of Bichri.

^23 (A)Now Joab was in command of all the army of Israel; and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was in command of the Cherethites and the Pelethites;

³⁸ So Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, ^(A)and the Cherethites and the Pelethites went down and had Solomon ride on King David's mule and brought him to Gihon.

⁴⁴ and the king has sent with him Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the ^(A)Cherethites and the Pelethites. And they had him ride on the king's mule.

¹⁷ and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were the ^(A)chief officials in the service of the king.

¹⁶ therefore thus says the Lord God, ^(A)Behold, I will stretch out my hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off ^(B)the Cherethites and destroy the rest of the seacoast.
